Be Our Guest – Mike Pickering
Beatwolf Radio are pleased to announce that a Haçienda legend has accepted our invitation to Be Our Guest this Saturday, 28th July.
For those of you not in the know, Mike Pickering was a DJ during the 1980′s at the original superclub, The Haçienda. He was also the man responsible for signing the bands James and The Happy Mondays to Factory Records, the label run by another Mancunian legend, Anthony H. Wilson.
Following this he found fame as the founding member of M People, fronted by Heather Small, winning the 1994 Mercury Music Prize in the process.
These days he finds himself the Head of A&R at Sony Records, under their Columbia imprint. As such, he works with bands such as Kasabian and the Manic Street Preachers.
