Funkademia started life back in 1995 in the legendary Manchester Boardwalk nightclub as a one off party and 17 years later has grown to become Manchesters longest running night in Mancunian clubbing history. Funkademia has built its reputation on a well established stable of local dj’s playing quality soul-funk music. From tamla to ska to original disco to jazz funk to classic hip-hop & rap the night is a veritable history of black music in its widest forms. Funkademia has occupied a number of different hot & sweaty homes during its 17 run and now operates every Saturday night from the Mint Lounge in the heart of the Citys Northern Quarter.Funkademia Mancunia:One City Under A Groove.
