High Noon- with Phil Beckett

Phil is co- creator of ‘Bop Local’, a club-night which takes place in working men’s and sports clubs in the suburbs of Manchester and soon the UK.

From his first job at 16 at The Manchester Apollo (Phil operated covertly, his mission to steal as much beer as possible from visiting band’s dressing rooms for consumption by the venue’s stage manager), to spinning tunes at nearly every notable Mancunian club and his own much celebrated Rock & Roll Bar club night, Phil has been busy getting stuck into the local music scene on many levels:

• Compiling Top 5 albums
• running a radio station
• European tour DJ for several big bands
• lecturing on music and radio
• video makinglive sound
• theatre music consultant…all sorts of stuff really.

Finding great new tunes is top of the list for his show, mix that with oddities and classics from whatever takes his fancy, funk, dub, pop, soul, soundtrack, house, hip-hop… throw in a social conscience which is probably misguided…and there you have it.
